Job description

Consumers like to enjoy their foods and they like to stimulate their senses by enjoying tasty products. A good understanding of the interactions between the product, the senses, and the brain is pivotal to deliver an optimal sensory experience. This is why FrieslandCampina experts are investigating all these relevant areas.

 

As a Behaviour scientist, your focus will be to:

  • Capture and decode existing behaviours, habits and motivations of dairy product usage and consumption
  • Build understanding and develop tools to influence consumer behaviour towards healthier choices (behaviour change models)

 

You will be part of a professional Global Sensory Research team (about 10 colleagues) within a dynamic environment. Aside from your direct co-workers you will be working together with various stakeholders across FrieslandCampina, including product developers and marketers.

 

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Contribute to-, impact and influence the FrieslandCampina Research and Innovation roadmaps
  • Understand and translate business needs into Behaviour Science research programs and activities that will support the strategy of FrieslandCampina business groups
  • Identify Behaviour Science research insights from outside FrieslandCampina (congresses and external networks) and translate these effectively into opportunities for FrieslandCampina
  • Design and lead Behaviour Science research initiatives in collaboration with multiple academic and industry partners (Public-Private partnerships)
  • Leverage knowledge and insights from external collaborations with academic & industry partners for application at FrieslandCampina
  • Develop and manage complex relations with internal and external stakeholders (business & research), in order to help accelerating the implementation of innovative opportunities
  • Leverage research insights and knowledge on behaviour change into actionable recommendation for business projects

Requirements

  • PhD degree in psychology, sociology or anthropology, most preferably with a specialisation in the area of Consumer Behaviour Science
  • Minimum 8 years of work experience in Behaviour Science
  • Working experience in the FMCG industry and/or consumer research agencies is a must
  • Experience in Food Research is a plus
  • Ability to lead projects with Behaviour Science focus
  • Ability to work independently, reliable team player with entrepreneurial-, open attitude and hands-on mentality
  • Target-oriented with respect for quality and timing
  • Ideally experience / affinity with managing projects
  • Excellent communication- and presentation skills in English
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary project teams, and pro-actively connect with other related disciplines
  • Ability to present complex data and results in an effective way to non-experts stakeholders
  • Ability to engage with senior (business) stakeholders and manage their expectations
