Short description

The MBP serves as a Procurement ambassador between the Business Location and Procurement

 

By having a clear understanding of the Procurement strategy and initiatives, the MBP facilitates the development, implementation, execution and communication of the Procurement strategy and initiatives at the Location.

 

By having a clear understanding of the Location Strategy, Business and Processes, the LPM represents the Business’ interests and supports strategic, tactical and operational Procurement activities.

 

The MBP manages the relationships between Category Management and the Business Group (to align with the business) which can be seen as key account management for BG / Opco and vice versa for Procurement. He is responsible for effective stakeholder communication of Procurement related topics on the Location and serves as the first escalation point for Procurement/ Opco/BG/Country issues.

 

The MBP manages a local Business Procurement team.

  • Procurement has direct EBIT impact for FrieslandCampina
  • Possible conflicting interest between procurement and business/category
  • Broad portfolio knowledge (direct material and indirect material)
  • Large Number of SKU’s and number of suppliers
  • Geographical spread of activities
  • Part of BG MBP team and hence contribute to total Procurement efforts

Result Areas

 

Procurement Strategy Development

  • Support Manager Category Procurement in development of Procurement Strategy (bottom up / top down), in line with procurement categories, business & product needs, supply market dynamics & technological changes in the marketplace, resulting in a Procurement strategy for the Opco / location in scope
  • Communicate location business, strategy & processes to category procurement in order to represent business’ interest towards category procurement teams to ensure an optimized procurement strategy

Procurement Strategy Implementation

  • To oversee procurement activities resulting in a consistent communication & execution of the Procurement Strategy while securing/assuring continuity of the local business, incl. driving contractor safety, supply contingency, services, value engineering
  • Ensure proper communication, handover and interaction with Category Management to implement Procurement strategy and initiatives for the location, ensuring functional excellence within the Opco, especially strategic sourcing, supplier management activities and user compliance.
  • Initiate development of new procurement projects / savings initiatives
  • Execute Procurement initiatives in the location, both initiated locally, as initiated by Category Management, ensuring delivery of procurement projects & savings for the opco

Stakeholder Communication & Relationship management

  • a.o. coordinate effective communication of procurement strategy and procurement related topics on location

Escalation and first contact point

  • a.o. Be first point of contact and responsible for all operational matters for the locations in scope (e.g. payment term disputes, local contracts, new vendor approvals,…); being proactive in the debottlenecking / escalating / deescalating of Procurement/Opco/BG/Country issues

Procurement implementation

  • Play a leading role towards the location in creating awareness, getting commitment and acceptability of the key procurements objectives / policies & procedures by using change management principles
