This position will be responsible to design/develop, lead and monitor projects for new or improved products or applications and ensure that they are ready for hand-over to an operational environment in line with R&D and business strategy with the outcome of adding value for our customers.

 

Participate in customer visits with sales and/or marketing and support them by explaining our products and processes and link that to the customer’s application. Be comfortable operating in a team-based setting where some members may be separated geographically balancing multiple priorities.  

What will your job look like?

Projects/Root Cause Analysis activities (RCA): Act as Project leader through setting-up, planning and execution projects and RCA’s in own area, within FrieslandCampina’s way of working and the R&D and/or business strategy

 

Technical sales: Visit (potential) customers together with sales, discuss customer needs and come up with and propose solutions from technical point of view

 

Relationship management: Build and maintain a network of relevant internal and external relations and external relations, stakeholders, partners and customers, especially in the triangle operation, marketing & sales and R&D

 

Value engineering: Assess, improve and refine existing products/processes/ packages/applications and by doing so add value for our customers

 

Development experiments: Set up, plan, execute and analyse experiments, and reports results, taking into account possible risks, in line with test set-up and strategy of the R&D and/or business department both at laboratory scale and pilot scale.

 

Up-scaling/factory trials: Upscale and implement new products/processes/applications in factory environment, according to all applicable guidelines

 

Innovation (optional): Identify new commercial and technological developments inside and outside own organization, generate new opportunities, based on insights and creativity, share these with other professionals, translate these into opportunities for own are/domain and create new technological innovations, in cooperation with others and in line with business requirements

Work and Education Level

  • Minimum BSc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology or similar science with 4+ years’ experience in Cell Culture / fermentation desired.
  • Leading structured problem solving teams (e.g. green or black belt lean Six Sigma, CAPA, DoE etc.) is not a must, but considered a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial and open attitude, flexible, analytical, quality focus, customer focused and work well both independently and within a team
  • Strong networker, being able to communicate well with internal and external stakeholders
  • Good listening, influencing and negotiations skills
  • Able to cooperate and actively seek connection with colleagues on longer distance
