Are you experienced with GC-MS? Do you want to develop in analytical chemistry even further? Would you like to know everything about odour- and taste components in milk and which role they play in the different dairy applications? Maybe then you are the one we are looking for in our sensory research team!


In our sensory research projects we are continuously investigating the relation between odour- and taste components and the sensory perception, to be able to better design products with the properties our consumers want. Being able to analyse those odour- and taste components is therefore an essential part of our work.


The Global Sensory Research team consists of around 10 colleagues. Openness, willingness to help and flexibility are core characteristics of the team. As research analyst you will work in projects in close collaboration with other research analysts, flavour scientist, sensory developers as well as colleagues form other R&D departments. To strengthen our team we are looking for an analytical chemist. In this role you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Participate in research projects, as well as execute ad hoc support analyses
  • Shared responsibility for planning, design and preparation of experiments and experimental designs
  • Execute on lab scale experiments related to odour and taste, according applicable health and safety regulations
  • Analyse, interpret, report and discuss pro-actively results with experts and project teams, including advice for next steps
  • Advice colleagues on the application of analytical techniques and methods
  • Responsibility for critical evaluation of equipment, methods and techniques; pro-actively propose points for improvement
  • Responsibility for certain lab administration tasks
  • Stay up to date on and share new developments in the field of analytical techniques


What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor level analytical chemistry (HBO/HLO)
  • Work experience in GC-MS analyses (on food / dairy)
  • Preferably at least 3 years work experience in a research environment, like pharma or food
  • Experience with flavour analysis is a plus
  • Affinity with statistics and data analysis is a plus
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Team player with a hands-on attitude, with the following key competences: accurate, accountable, dedicated, independent, result oriented, analytical, well-organised, open attitude, willingness to learn.
