The challenge of this role:

  • Support RFC retail solutions business and growth objectives by managing 3rd party supply needs including ao. providing quotations, products and services, qualifying suppliers, supporting customer opportunities and executing product launches with external manufacturers (e.g. bulk, finished commercial products or packaging services). 
  • Extensive contact with 3rd Party Vendors, internal customers, marketing and commercialization teams, quality and regulatory organization, procurement organization as well as supply chain incl. planning organization


The position

  • External Manufacturing Strategic Sourcing:
  • Strategy development to manage assigned 3rd party activities and spend (ie CoManufacturing, Tolling and CoPacking), setting priorities as needed to optimize sales growth and drive innovation
  • Support Structural Business Partnering by developing successful, strategic relationships between customers and suppliers, based on achieving best practice and sustainable competitive advantage
  • Service Business Units across multiple OpCos by supporting new product launches, line extensions, transitions, discontinuations, attending project meetings, contributing a.o. to sustainability and ad-hoc information requests
  • Provide Supply Market intelligence including conducting market studies to identify new Vendors and develop a robust supplier base
  • Support Make-or-Buy analysis and provide input and solutions in commercialization meetings as they relate to manufacturing and packing solutions
  • Develop RFxs, analyze and recommend scenarios to stakeholders to select optimal 3rd party vendors for business/product launch opportunities taking into consideration capabilities, capacity, speed, risk management, strategic business opportunities and retail business priorities
  • Work closely with business development teams, commercialization managers and quality team to ensure seamless and timely product launches from quotation to launch implementation
  • Drafting, negotiation and execution of Supply Agreements to cover scope, quality, time, cost of service as well as other contract terms and conditions, in cooperation with RFC Legal, Quality and S&OP teams and Business Leads
  • Manage the overall vendor relationship to ensure business needs are met and provide visibility on performance and quality related challenges which might compromise the business
  • Following the TCO approach, lead internal and external teams to implement continuous improvement programs which will be sustainable, evaluating opportunities to reduce costs, improve service level and product quality
  • Commercial Contract management includes upholding the contracts for all assigned 3rd party co-manufacturers, challenging issues when applicable, leading final finished goods specification review with R&D, supporting product supply on inventory and material obsolescence
  • Involvement in setting up & reviewing SHEQA requirements, procedures, and instructions
  • Establishing and managing budgets including tracking of variances
  • Structurally monitor and document progress keeping internal and external stakeholders informed


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, Operations Manufacturing Management, Quality, Food Science, Engineering or any other related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in strategic sourcing, 3rd party manufacturing management, purchasing, planning, supply chain or product management
  • Minimum of 10 years combined experience in manufacturing, business development or HQ business team experience
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Experience in the food-processing industry
  • Good category knowledge
  • Excellent negotiating skills; recognized Purchasing qualification a plus
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic sustainable initiatives, and lead change
  • Ability to influence senior leaders within the business and manufacturing organization
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, multi-cultural, matrix environment
  • Ability to provide mentoring and coaching to seasoned professionals of the extended team
  • Data analysis capability and financial acumen
  • MS Office experience required; SAP knowledge is benficial
  • Ability to travel up to 30-50%
