Kurze Stellenbeschreibung

As Manager Subject Matter Experts (SME) you play a vital role in the delivery of our CAPEX projects within Ingredients.

With a team of highly experienced Subject Matter Experts in different fields of engineering, you define and maintain the technical standards and support project teams to ensure a fit for purpose application. For this it is critical to work closely together with the project teams on site and understand their challenges.

Besides that it is important to connect with other disciplines, like quality and safety, to translate their requirements into technical standards as required. You are also responsible for monitoring technical developments outside Royal FrieslandCampina and implement valuable practices in our projects.


Main Responsibilities

  • Line management responsibility for the team of Lead Engineers, internal (10) and external (40). Hiring manager for external engineers;
  • Responsible for the engineering knowledge regarding E&I, Automation, Mechanical, Civil, Utilities, HVAC, ATEX, Chemicals etc.;
  • Responsible for the standards with regard to E&I, Automation, Mechanical, Civil, Utilities, HVAC, ATEX, Chemicals etc. within our Business Group Ingredients, including the knowledge behind this standards;
  • Ensures the engineering standards comply with legislation;
  • Proactively build, develop and maintain relations with stakeholders within Royal FrieslandCampina (i.e. QA, SHE, Procurement) to ensure alignment with corporate standards and optimize proper application within projects;
  • Proactively build, maintain and develop relations within own organization and with external parties to increase professional knowledge of the team and the Ingredients organization;
  • Proactively build, maintain and develop relations with CSC;
  • Responsible for up to date Best Practices of engineering processes as powder handling, liquid processing, evaporation, packaging, CIP etc.;
  • Ensure fit-for-purpose implementation of standards by giving adequate support to project teams and reviewing design documentation;
  • Understands the interfaces and establishes integration between the different engineering disciplines.


To be succesful in this position you have/ are:

  • Minimum Bachelor degree (chemical or mechanical engineering or food science) and Academic thinking/ working level required;
  • Minimum of 7 years work experience in technical/engineering projects and process engineering;
  • Great communication skills;
  • Analytical problem solving skills;
  • Inventive;
  • Cooperative;
  • Strong advisor, convincing, problem solver and a professional communicator, both written and oral in English and Dutch;
  • Able to manage a department of specialists.
